Stuff I Do

Welcome!

Welcome to My Kitchen Tree! I spend a lot of time reflecting in the early mornings, feet propped up, phone, Kindle, notebook, pen, and Bible surrounding me. I sit facing my kitchen window, where a lone tree heals my starvation for East Texas vegetation. West Texas has grown on me, but I miss trees! The seasons (both of them out here, lol) reflect on my little kitchen tree, and seem to mirror what blooms in my heart.

It's been a fantastic morning. I don't have to clock in to the library until 11:00 a.m. (late open because of the weather). I've enjoyed two cups of coffee, a nice warm blanket, heart to heart talk with my handsome husband, and funny quips back and forth with my daughters on Facebook. As you can see, my poor little tree is frozen over.

Don't you feel like that sometimes? Frozen, stalled, shivering in uncertainty? But the sun always comes. Our heavenly Father never abandons us. Those frozen times seem lonely, but He is always there. Maybe, like today when things are too slippery, it's time for a break. Time for a little festive snuggling, playing, and putting regular things aside. Celebrate knowing that the thaw is coming. Maybe the Father just wants us to rest. He's got everything under control.

Thanks for stopping by. How can I pray for you?
